Well, now my eBooks will be distributed through Barnes and Noble (Nook), Amazon.com (Kindle), Sony eBook Store (Sony Readers), Shortcovers and Smashwords (Wide variety of Mobile devices in 140 countries). That’s all there is for now…we’ll see who else signs on tomorrow. Read the press release here.
They call it the democratizing of the distribution process. We’ll see. The interesting developments will involve pricing. If they’re smart, distributors will just keep taking half of whatever an eBook sells for, and not worry about old world over-pricing. (It’s free money for them, anyway.)
